Launched in March 2010, the Gulf Environment Forum (GEF) in Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is organised by the Presidency of Meteorology & Environment and held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdualziz.
The first event of its kind to be held in the Kingdom, GEF 2010 has attracted royal and ministerial attendees, as well as exhibitors representing 23 countries from around the world.
The main sectors of activities represented at the Forum are:
- Renewable Energy: Solar, Nuclear, Wind Energy, Production & Utilisation
- Waste Management: Municipal, Hazardous, Industrial, Medical and E-waste, Recycling, Waste to Energy
- Water and Wastewater: Treatment, Desalination, Wastewater/Sewerage
- Environmental Technologies: Air, Sea, & Climate Protection, District Cooling & Energy Conservation, Waste & Sewage Treatment
