BIOLOGICAL SEWER TREATMENT
ELIMINATE ARTERIOSCLEROSIS OF SEWERS

The Bacta-Pur® System is used for biological digestion of grease in grease traps/interceptors, lift station and sewers, as well as for reduction of organic loading and causes of noxious odors. Reduction of over 40% of organic loading (BOD) in sewers has been documented. This can allow for community expansion without expensive upgrades and/or reduced energy consumption thus decreasing causes of global warming.

SLUDGE DIGESTION

The Bacta Pur® System provides an optimal community of beneficial microbes to digest sludge. The Bacta Pur® System is recognized as a standard method to digest sludge in situ. This eliminates costs and energy of dredging and simply transporting the pollution elsewhere. Time, money & energy are saved as overall treatment is improved.

 
AMMONIA REDUCTION - even under ice
 
The Bacta-Pur® System includes Bacta-Pur® N3000, community of nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria to eliminate toxic ammonia, nitrite and nitrate even under ice in sewage lagoons. The BACTIVATOR® grows and increases the number of bacteria and optimize their conditions. It allows continuous injection of active nitrifying culture in high concentration and optimal condition for efficient removal of ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.
 
Bacta-Pur® N3000 has been used, for decades, in aquaculture to protect fishes and invertebrates and can help upgrade performance of existing wastewater treatment plants to meet ever more stringent discharge limits.
 
 
 
 
LEACHATE TREATMENT
 
 
Bacta-Pur® System helps to eliminate organic pollutants including hydrocarbons and other refractory compounds, reduce ammonia, digest scum & sludge, improve clarity and eliminate causes of noxious odors.
 
 
BIODEGRADATION OF HYDROCARBONS
 
Bacta-Pur® System biodegrades hydrocarbons from phenol(s) and oils to mono/poly-cyclic aromatics and halogenated compounds. The BACTIVATOR® automatically preconditions specific beneficial cultures to changing site-specific combination of hydrocarbons or other organic refractory compounds entering the wastewater treatment plant each day.
 

The Bacta-Pur® System for wastewater treatment combines the family of effective and safe ECOPROBIOTICS® bacterial cultures with the family of on-site activation, growing, physiological conditioning and delivery system, the BACTIVATOR®.

The ECOPROBIOTICS® cultures are purely natural and beneficial, with no added surfactants, emulsifiers or enzymes. They contain complex natural communities selected for their ability to work synergistically together. Specific communities are available for organic wastes (municipal, commercial & industrial) as well as for control of nitrogenous wastes. Bacta-Pur® cultures do not merely contain spore forming bacteria (e.g. bacilli), which can upset wastewater plants.

Pre activation of ECOPROBIOTICS®
The physiological condition of the ECOPROBIOTICS® is optimized on-site with the family of BACTIVATOR®, which automatically and continuously activates, multiplies and conditions the bacteria, prior to addition to the wastewater stream. The BACTIVATOR® operates on a flow through basis. Active cultures, in the optimal physiological conditions are released around o'clock. The BACTIVATOR® delivers CONTINUOUSLY the active beneficial bacteria in optimal physiological condition and therefore overcomes inadequacies of use of dormant culture.
 
The understanding of the current operational realities of each potential site, is essential for successful implementation of the Bacta-Pur® System. Application of the Bacta-Pur® System begins by carefully defining existing biological realities and treatment protocols within the wastewater treatment plant. The questionnaires were developed to gather this essential information on the system and to provide background data. Data from questionnaire is used to define, precisely, biological and physico-chemical realities within the system, in order to propose means of optimizing biological processes and operational efficiencies and to solve site specific problems while consistently achieving treatment goals.
